Space Weekend with the Columbus Clippers

Space Weekend with the Columbus Clippers

On the weekend of May the 4th (May the 4th be with you!)  the CORSA rocketry club had a booth at the Columbus Clippers Space weekend on Saturday May 5 and Sunday May 6.  We went down Saturday night to help out and see if we could find some young scientists and astronauts among the baseball fans.

Setting up.

Here are some of the club's rockets.  We had a good mix from the very small to the very large.

Hobbyland donated 2 starter kits for lucky fans to win. both went to enthusiastic young rocketeers!  We hope to see them at a future launch!

Folks of all ages stopped by to check out the booth and ask questions. Many shared stories of launching when they were younger and we encouraged them to get back into it today.

The Clippers Mascot Lou Seal stopped by and was an honorary member!

We had a great night down at the ball game and met a lot of enthusiastic youngsters and their parents.  Many thanks to the Columbus Clippers and CORSA for their hospitality and letting us tag along at this event.

The CORSA rocketry club Meets the first Tuesday of each month at Otterbein University and launches at Freedom Park in Sunbury every third Saturday of the month.  The public is invited to come out to watch or participate in these launches.  CORSA also actively supports build and launch programs with groups such as Scouting, 4H, Civil Air patrol,  Educational programs and church groups.  If your group is interested in doing a rocketry launch, Hobbyland will be happy to work with you on group rates and coordination with the club.
